This series of work is exploring the sculptural and textural nature of clay, using rolled slab techniques. Each sculptural vessel is completed spontaneously in very short periods of time. The textures are created on raw slabs prior to cutting and use. The process is the antithesis of architectural design, my core design experience. The resulting esthetic is random and irregular, with high levels of textural and form variation. These sculptures are generally white stoneware with cone 6 glazes spayed in layers for interest.
